Coral Springs High School’s Angelica Macarulay finished first on her team in the BCAA Regular Season Cross Country Meet #4 in Coconut Creek Tuesday night.
Macarulay recorded a time of 23:37.4, which was the fourth-best in the entire race. She narrowly beat out Devyn Sanders from Marjory Stoneman Douglas.
“That was Angelica’s best race all season by far,” said Head Coach Brantley Barr. “She was aggressive from the start and pushed to stay with the front group. I’m looking forward to seeing how she finishes off this season.”
Overall, the Colts finished in second place. The Eagles won the event while Deerfield Beach High School came in third. Both Northeast and Monarch High School also ran individually.
CSHS had six other runners: Hannah Bazan in 11th, Lea Ramnarace 12th. Briana Williams 14th, Josefine Majdoch 15th, and Julia Fendell 16th.
Bergyne Darang also ran well for the Colts, finishing with a time of 33:32.
Next, CSHS will be in action on Tuesday, October 5, when they face off in another BCAA Meet at Tradewinds Park in Coconut Creek.
