Next Stop Broadway Unveils Biggest Season Yet With 3 Full-Scale Productions

Next Stop Broadway is gearing up for what organizers are calling its biggest season yet, with three full-scale musicals and expanded performance opportunities for young performers.

The 2026-27 Year Program at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts begins the week of Aug. 31 and offers acting, singing, and dance training for students ages 4 through high school.

“More shows, more opportunities, and more fun!” said Cynthia O’Brien, artistic director. “With three full-scale productions for different age groups and expanded performance opportunities, this is our biggest season yet.”

The season’s theme, “Your Stage. Your Story. Your Season!” reflects the program’s goal of giving young performers a place to develop their talents and confidence.

“There is a place for every young performer to find their voice, build confidence, and make their own mark on the stage at the premiere training center for young performers,” O’Brien said.

Next Stop Broadway has been training young performers for more than 20 years. Its Broadway Series combines workshops in acting, singing, dance and audition preparation with rehearsals for fully staged musical productions.

This season features three productions organized by age group.

Students in grades 2-5 will perform “Madagascar The Musical,” meeting Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The program begins Sept. 1, with the final production scheduled for April 29 at 6 p.m.

Students in grades 6-8 will take on “Freaky Friday,” the musical based on Mary Rodgers’ novel and the Disney films. Classes begin Sept. 2 and meet Wednesdays from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The production is scheduled for April 15 at 6 p.m.

High school students in grades 9 and older will perform “9 to 5 The Musical,” featuring music and lyrics by Dolly Parton. Classes begin Aug. 31 and meet Mondays from 6 to 9 p.m. Performances are scheduled for April 9 at 7 p.m. and April 10 at 2 and 7 p.m.

Students in the Broadway Series also participate in NSB Idol and NSB’s Got Talent, providing additional opportunities to perform and showcase their individual talents. Every student in the Broadway Series is cast and featured in a fully staged production.

Beyond the three musicals, Next Stop Broadway offers ensemble programs for performers looking to build their skills. Classes include NSB Juniors for ages 4-7, Dance Team and Acting & Improv for grades 2-5, and Dance Team Extreme for students in grades 6 and older.

A new opportunity is also coming in May with NSB All Stars, an audition-only advanced musical production for experienced performers. Selected cast members will participate in an enhanced rehearsal process culminating in multiple performances of a musical to be announced.

Broadway Series tuition is $150 per month, while ensemble classes are $80 per month. A one-time $25 city service fee is required per student, and families receive a 10% discount on each additional class. Private instruction in voice, acting, and dance is also available.

Next Stop Broadway programs are held at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts, 2855 Coral Springs Drive.
