Coral Springs High School Produces 6 District Championships in Track and Field

Coral Springs High School had a strong result with six first-place finishes at the District Championship on April 16 at South Plantation High School.
The girls team came in second with Olivia Higgins, Triney Dajuste, and Sofia Evans winning the 100 hurdles, high jump, and pole vault, respectively. Higgins, Lydia Gentilhomme, Destinee Cole, and Amelia Christopher also came in second in the 4 x 400 relay. Trinity Dajuste earned third in the long jump and triple jump, while Shaquille Alvaranga came in third in the 400 hurdles and third in the 100 hurdles. Kaela Burke competed in the shot put and discus, coming in third and fifth, with Gentilhomme coming in fourth in the 400 meters.
The boys come in third, with Jeffrey Belizaire, Sebastian Marrero, and Cashmere Samuels winning events. Additionally, Belizaire, Tyler Joseph, Robert Khan, and Sebastian Marrero won the 4x100 relay. Matthew Wykpisz, Darvenz Charite, and Haozhen Yuan all came in third. The discus also produced a pair of top five finalists with Haozhen Yuan and Dawlton Charite. Ravi Perauad and Dawlton Charite also made the top five, along with Timothy Russell, who earned points in two events, as did Gentilhomme in the 1600 meters. Next, CSHS will get set for Regionals and potentially the State Championship next month.
