The City of Coral Springs is observing Autism Awareness Month this April with a series of events designed to foster inclusion, educate the public, and support families and individuals with sensory sensitivities.
Throughout the month, residents can pick up sensory materials at the Coral Springs Gymnasium, located at 2501 Coral Springs Drive. These resources are part of the city’s continued effort to promote a more inclusive environment for all.
Hoppin’ Into Springs Sensory-Friendly Time Frame
Saturday, April 12 | 9 – 9:30 a.m.
Sportsplex Park – 2800 Sportsplex Drive
Children ages 3 to 8 with sensory sensitivities can enjoy the annual Hoppin’ Into Springs Egg Hunt in a dedicated, calm 30-minute session before the general event begins. Registration is required. Visit CoralSprings.gov/EggHunt to sign up.
Museum Family Day with Sensory Kits
Saturday, April 12 | 12:30 – 4:30 p.m.
Coral Springs Museum of Art – 2855 Coral Springs Drive
This free, family-friendly event at the Coral Springs Museum of Art will feature art activities, interactive tours, storytime, and sweet treats. As a KultureCity® certified Sensory Inclusive venue, the museum offers sensory bags complete with noise-canceling headphones, fidget tools, and other helpful items. Saturday Social Club
Saturday, April 26 | 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Senior Center at Sartory Hall – 10150 NW 29th Street
Open to individuals ages 10 and older with physical or mental challenges, this $22 program features on-site entertainment and engaging activities in a supportive environment. Visit the city’s Special Needs Programs page for more.
Sensory Walk
Saturday, April 27 | 9 a.m.
Cypress Hammock Park – 1300 Coral Springs Drive
Participants of all ages and abilities are invited to experience a calming walk through nature, featuring sensory stations that promote relaxation and mindfulness. Free take-home sensory bags will be provided. Learn more at CoralSprings.gov/SensoryWalk.
Exceptional Voices Together: A Community Forum
Tuesday, April 29 | 6 – 7:45 p.m.
Coral Springs City Hall – 9500 W Sample Road
