A Coral Springs teen working as an Instacart driver is accused of throwing makeup foundation on two women and a 5-year-old girl during a bizarre incident at Walmart, leading to multiple battery charges.
According to a Coral Springs Police Department arrest report, Fard Al Mahdi-Kewin Muhammad, 18, of Coral Springs, was arrested on July 22 and charged with three counts of misdemeanor battery and one count of criminal mischief.
Records show officers responded to the Walmart at 3801 Turtle Creek Drive after receiving reports that a man had thrown an unknown substance on multiple people.
One victim told officers she was shopping in the pet aisle when Muhammad approached her, claimed she had paint on her back, and offered to help wipe it off with a rag. After she consented to him wiping her back, he allegedly told her there was also paint on her buttocks and asked for permission to clean it, but she refused.
Police said Muhammad then allegedly told the woman there was a spider on her buttocks and repeatedly offered to “smack it” off for her, but she declined and walked away.
Once outside in the parking lot, the woman watched as Muhammad walked behind another woman and her 5-year-old daughter. Investigators say he threw foundation on them while holding up a cellphone that the first victim believed was recording or photographing the encounter.
Between the multiple stunts and the filming of the victims, investigation records point to either a random, bizarre episode or stunts staged for social media.
The first victim confronted Muhammad and warned the second woman, who then discovered the substance on her clothing was makeup foundation, not paint. When asked why he had thrown it, Muhammad allegedly replied, “I don’t know,” according to the report. The second victim then called 911.
According to the affidavit, Muhammad told officers a series of stories that didn’t line up with the victims’ accounts or surveillance video.
Muhammad was transported to the Broward County Main Jail following his arrest.
