The Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department has announced that the Coral Springs Regional Institute of Public Safety (CSRIPS) has been honored as the ‘Florida Fire Service Training and Education Provider of the Year’ by the Florida Fire Training Directors Association.
According to a statement from the Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department, the recognition was received for an unprecedented fifth time, further cementing CSRIPS’s position as a fire service training and education leader. Since 1999, CSRIPS was previously awarded this prestigious accolade in 2007, 2011, 2013, and 2017.
Under the guidance of Operations Manager Elizabeth Williams and a team comprising over 100 part-time instructors from various agencies, CSRIPS has pioneered multiple programs.
These include minimum standards firefighter training, emergency medical technician courses, paramedic training, AED, and the vital ‘stop the bleed’ courses. Additionally, the institute offers specialized programs such as fire service career development, technical rescue, and the impactful ‘Struggle Well’ mental wellness initiative, specifically designed for the well-being of first responders.
Fire Chief Michael McNally lauded the institute, particularly highlighting the dedication and expertise of Williams and her team.
“Their commitment to excellence is evident in the institute’s impressive track record, including a 100% state exam passing rate for the Firefighter I & II Class”, said McNally.
Beyond training excellence, CSRIPS has contributed to community outreach and fire service projects. Notable initiatives include hosting the annual Job Fair & Career Expo and the Fire Explorer/Cadet Competition, which serve as professional development platforms and community engagement tools.
