Congratulations to the Coral Springs Tennis Center Senior Team who defeated the Parkland Country Club in the 2017 Northwest Broward Tennis League Championship Playoff Match.
Played at the Coral Springs Tennis Center, the Senior Team is captained by Len Okyn and the Parkland Country Club is captained by Lorne Katz.
Doubles
Coral Springs Number 1 doubles team: Jack Kowal and John Cisneros, came away with a 6-4, 6-3 triumph over Parkland’s Brian Kritchman and Lee Sussman.
Coral Springs Number 2 doubles team: Nick St. Cavish and Jim Howrey, defeated Parkland’s Steve Fink and Bob Lewis, 6-1, 6-2.
Coral Springs Number 3 doubles team: Len Okyn (Team Captain) and Humberto Florez captured a win over Parklands’s Jack Solinsky and Lorne Katz in a three-setter: 6-3, 10-4, Parkland 7-5
Coral Springs took all three matches and were named the winners of the 2017 Northwest Broward Tennis League season.
The Northwest Broward Tennis League is a Senior League with a three doubles team format, started by Lorne Katz three years ago, and includes teams from Eagle Trace, Sunrise Courts of Welleby, Woodmont, Heron Bay, Parkland Country Club, and Coral Springs Tennis Center.
