A Coral Springs woman was arrested last week after authorities say she was caught with a semi-automatic firearm, despite being barred from gun ownership due to a violent criminal record from her teenage years that included attempted murder charges.
Coral Springs Police Department records show Kayden Williams, 21, was taken into custody on August 28 following a traffic stop near the 8100 block of Wiles Road. According to an arrest report, officers discovered a 9mm semi-automatic handgun with an extended magazine under the driver’s seat of her vehicle. The firearm had no serial number and was loaded with 12 rounds.
Police say Williams, who was behind the wheel of the car, admitted her driver’s license was suspended but denied ownership of the gun.
Court records reveal that Williams is barred from possessing firearms because of charges dating back to December 2021, when she was still a minor. At that time, she faced one count of attempted felony murder, three counts of armed burglary, and three counts of robbery with a firearm.
Records indicate Williams was committed to a maximum-risk residential program for juveniles and later placed on conditional release, which ended in May 2025.
Williams was arrested and transported to Broward County Main Jail, where she remains held on no bond.
