Thanks to a territorial tortoise at the Sawgrass Nature Center & Wildlife Hospital, a video we shot has gone viral.
Appropriately named Bumper because he head-butts anyone in his territory, he's actually a Greek Tortoise said Allen Rose, executive director of the center.
Bumper's incessant head-butting made him the star of the Internet this weekend, first on Reddit with over 30,000 upvotes and 500 comments, then was chosen to star on YouTube's Daily Dose of the Internet, so far racking up over 350,000 views and counting.
What's next for Bumper? Hopefully, this will translate into some much-needed donations to the Sawgrass Nature Center, a nonprofit organization in Coral Springs which takes in rescued animals, rehabilitates them and then releases them, that is, if they can safely live back in the wild again.
If you'd like to help other animals like Bumper, please donate at the Sawgrass Nature Center & Wildlife Hospital or visit them at 3000 Sportsplex Dr. Coral Springs, FL 33065.
