High School football continued in week five with a commanding win by one team, while the weather impacted another.
Coral Springs Charter played its first game in two weeks and beat Pompano Beach High School 41-18 on Friday. The Panthers are set to play J.P. Taravella in their next game on Friday, September 26, at 7 p.m. The Trojans lost to Western High School. They are 1-4 this year after previously picking up their first win since 2023, after they beat Pompano Beach High School 23-6 in Week 2.
Coral Spring High School also returned and lost to South Plantation High School 40-18, falling to 0-4 this season. They will have another tough matchup coming up against Piper High School on Friday, September 26, at 7 p.m. The Bengals are 1-4 but have played an extremely tough schedule, and their only win came against South Plantation. High School. The Bengals also won 41-0 in the head-to-head matchup a season ago.
Coral Glades‘ game against Hallandale High School was postponed and will be rescheduled for Monday, September 29 at 7 p.m.. The Jaguars will now play Spanish River Community High School on Friday, September 26, at 6:30 p.m. The Sharks went 7-4 last year and won 61-6 over the Jaguars when they last met a year ago
