Meet Lt Governor Jay Collins at Wings Plus in Coral Springs.
Florida Lieutenant Governor Jay Collins, a Republican candidate for governor, will meet with residents during a campaign stop in Coral Springs on Thursday, Aug. 6.
The meet-and-greet is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wings Plus, 9880 W. Sample Road. The event is open to the public and will give attendees an opportunity to meet Collins, hear about his campaign, and discuss issues affecting Florida.
Collins was appointed Florida’s lieutenant governor by Gov. Ron DeSantis in 2025 after serving in the Florida Senate. Before entering politics, he spent more than 23 years in the U.S. Army as a Green Beret.
A Purple Heart recipient, Collins lost a leg as a result of combat injuries but continued serving for several years before retiring from the military.
He announced his campaign for governor in January and is seeking the Republican nomination in the 2026 election to succeed term-limited Gov. DeSantis.
Collins is one of several Republicans competing in the primary race.
The primary is Aug. 18, 2026.
