On November 26 at 8:07 p.m. police were called to a physical fight between a man and a woman. The female witness told police that Hary Charles, 30, of Coral Springs had sexually battered a girl under the age of 12. The officer met with the mother and the witness who provided police sworn statements.
According to the police affidavit, the victim was visiting a friend for Thanksgiving at the resident’s home in Coral Springs between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m when Charles pushed her into a bathroom inside the home, locked the door and turned off the lights. This is when he touched her vagina under her clothing and penetrated her vagina with his hand. He also attempted to remove her pants, During this time she tried to leave, as well as scream but Charles put his hand over her mouth. He then attempted to remove her bra and touch her breast, telling her “Let’s have sex.”
Charles was then interrupted by the witness who knocked on the door and attempted to get into the bathroom. He told the victim to go hide inside of the shower and put her hand over her mouth. The witness who knocked, told police that she observed the door locked for approximately five minutes and then knocked on the door again. She then saw Hary Charles exit the bathroom and found the victim hiding in the shower. She disclosed the incident to the victim’s mother who also provided a sworn statement collaborating the victim’s allegations.
Charles was seen by several witnesses in a physical altercation with the witness outside the location of the incident. The witness told police that Hary Charles did not want her to report the incident to the police and fled the area before police arrived.
In 2012, Charles was charged with culpable negligence for allegedly leaving a gun and ammunition in a place accessible to children.
According to police, since Thanksgiving, he has been found, detained, and is currently in custody at the Broward County Main Jail.
Besides three new charges of sexual battery, lewd and lascivious molestation, and false imprisonment, Charles is charged with violating his probation.
