Breaking news: The City of Coral Springs is looking for select kids willing to fill the position of Mayor…for a Day!
The City of Coral Springs invites students from third to 12th grade a chance to step into the shoes of the city’s top leaders through its “Mayor for the Day” program.
The program provides kids with dreams of leading the community a behind-the-scenes look – for better or worse – at how local government works and how our leaders handle day-to-day operations.
Selected students will be invited to attend meetings, discuss ideas with city officials, and even shadow the Mayor or City Commissioners during their daily responsibilities. But don’t worry, parents – while showing how the decision-making sausage is made, no real legislative power is involved, so your kids will still need to do their homework at the end of the day.
The Mayor for the Day program aims to inspire civic engagement, empower young residents, and spark ideas for improving the community.
While elementary and middle school participants will need a parent or responsible adult to accompany them, the experience is designed to allow students to actively contribute their ideas and gain a more profound and independent understanding of how the city operates.

Current Mayors cannot apply. Sorry Mayor Brook.
