Oreo and Peanut {Broward County Animal Care}
Two furry friends at Broward County Animal Care hope to find their forever families.
Meet Oreo, a friendly 2-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier, and Peanut, a calm and loving 10-year-old Domestic Shorthair cat.
Oreo
Oreo (A2386931) is a handsome pup with a charming personality. Found as a stray in Lauderhill, he has been patiently waiting for his forever home since October 2024. This well-mannered dog has become a favorite in Broward Buddies, the shelter’s doggy day out program, where volunteers consistently praise his good behavior and friendly nature.
Whether enjoying a car ride with the windows down, sunbathing, or exploring his surroundings with an inquisitive nose, Oreo is always ready for an adventure. His calm and gentle demeanor makes him a perfect companion for any family.
Oreo is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, making him ready to go home today.
Peanut
Peanut (A2384268) is an exceptional senior cat with a unique look and a heart full of love. He arrived at Broward County Animal Care in September 2024 after his owner was hospitalized. While the other 12 cats he arrived with have already been adopted, Peanut is still waiting for his turn.
This mellow feline may take a little time to warm up, but once he does, he adores head scratches and mealtime—especially if canned food is involved. Thanks to The Pet Project, Peanut’s adopter will receive free food, vaccines, monthly preventatives, and reduced-cost medical care for the rest of his life.
Like Oreo, Peanut is also neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, and he’s ready to go home the same day he’s adopted.
How to Adopt
Broward County Animal Care, located at 2400 SW 42nd Street in Fort Lauderdale, is open for adoptions. All pets adopted from the shelter are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated, and they receive a Broward County Pet Registration Tag—all at no cost.
