Maplewood Elementary was honored to help U.S. Army Sgt. Kevin Joseph surprise his daughter Keyvonna said teacher Kelly Doyle.
Keyvonna, a kindergarten student at the Coral Springs school, had not seen her father in over a year due to being stationed in Colorado and Germany.
Doyle, a kindergarten teacher and team leader at Maplewood Elementary, helped facilitate the reunion on Tuesday.
“It was Keyvonna’s dream to have a reunion with her father, similar to the ones she would watch on YouTube with her mother, Tanzania,” she said.
The Joseph family has resided in Coral Springs for the past few years.
Doyle said, “We thank all of our military parents for their service and sacrifice.”
