Mill Creek Residential announced the groundbreaking on the North Block of the mixed-use Cornerstone development on Tuesday.
Current plans call for the North Block building to have 32,280 square feet of retail space and 353 total one-, two- and three-bedroom apartment units with an average size of 1,021 square feet.
The North Block will also include three elevated courtyards with manicured landscaping, a resort-style swimming pool, a clubhouse overlooking the pool, outdoor barbecue stations, a museum-inspired lobby and mail room, co-working spaces, and a fitness facility, according to a press release.
Home interiors on Cornerstone’s North Block will include nine-foot ceilings, wood plank-style flooring, stainless steel appliances, walk-in closets, and private patios or balconies, among other features.
Developers will seek a National Green Building Standard silver certification for building components such as energy efficiency, green design, and environmental quality.
“We believe these offerings will add tremendous value to the city’s epicenter, and we’re thrilled to be part of the epic Cornerstone at Downtown Coral Springs development,” said Andrea Rowe, senior managing director of development for Mill Creek South Florida.
Rowe continued, “With Phase II, we are not aiming to duplicate the original phase, but to offer a distinct set of amenities and a unique-but-similarly-refined living experience.”
Developers project the first move-ins at Cornerstone’s North Block will occur in fall 2025.
The North Block will join Cornerstone’s largely completed South Block, where move-ins at the 351-unit complex began in July.
The South Block’s hotel plans recently hit a massive bump. The Community Redevelopment Agency and La Boca Partners are set to discuss an updated agreement at a special Oct. 12 meeting, beginning at 5 p.m.
