Wreaths Across America is bringing its one-of-a-kind Mobile Education Exhibit to Florida.

The local chapter of National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and Florida Panthers are helping to host the event at the FLA Live Arena in Sunrise on Saturday, February 12, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The exhibit has many activities for the whole family, including coloring pages for the kids, a wreath building station, and a visit from the official mascot Stanley C Panther. The event will also honor the Vietnam Veterans with a ‘Welcome Home’ ceremony.

Florida Panthers provide pucks, sticks, t-shirts, and even two tickets to a home game as prizes for the raffle.

Karen Worcester, executive director of the Wreaths Across America, said the goal of the Mobile Education Exhibit is to bring the community together and teach patriotism while remembering the service and sacrifice of the nation’s heroes.

“In light of the current health crisis, we feel the exhibit has taken on even more meaning by providing the opportunity for people to participate in something both educational and inspiring safely,” she said.

Worcester explained that the event brings together the local community, veterans, active-duty military, and their families through interactive exhibits, short films, and shared stories.

The exhibit serves as a mobile museum, educating visitors about the service and sacrifice of American soldiers and providing information about the Wreaths of America, an organization honoring the memory of veterans – from the Revolutionary War to present-day conflicts.

The event is free and open to the public with social distancing, sanitation, and COVID-19 safety procedures in place. Visitors are asked to enter the arena through Gate 7.

The first 100 people will receive grab bags and a free sandwich coupon from Mission BBQ.
