The Humane Society of Broward County is searching for “furrever” homes for pets in need at the annual “Adopt A Sweetheart” event.
Whether it’s a dog to walk or a cat to curl up with, pet lovers will be able to find the Valentine of their dreams waiting for them at the adoption center on Saturday, February 12 through Monday, February 14, 2022. Visitors will be able to walk through the “Tunnel of Love” to find a feline friend or visit “Lover’s Lane” to meet the dog of their dreams.
The adoption kennels open daily at 11 a.m. Early birds will enjoy special treats and baked goods thanks to a bake sale courtesy of the HSBC’s Teen Club and Kid’s Club and participate in a giveaway by BrightStar Credit Union.
Adoption fees for pets aged one year and older will be 50% off, and select animals will have adoption fees covered, courtesy of BrightStar Credit Union. Normally adoption fees for pets over a year are $150 for dogs and $40 for cats.
All pets are neutered or spayed before going to their new home. They will also receive preliminary vaccinations, a 14-day health care plan complements of VCA Animal Hospitals, a microchip, a heartworm test for dogs over 7 months, a feline leukemia test, a bag of Purina ONE food, and more.
The event will take place at the Humane Society of Broward County, 2070 Griffin Road in Fort Lauderdale, Florida between 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Monday, and from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.
