All faiths are invited to join together to pray for our community and our leaders on National Day of Prayer.
The National Day of Prayer was first created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. It is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May.
According to the National Day of Prayer Task force, it is a day to mobilize the Christian community to intercede for America’s leaders and its families. The Task Force represents a Judeo Christian expression of the national observance, based on our understanding that this country was birthed in prayer and in reverence for the God of the Bible.
In Coral Springs, it is a nondenominational event hosted by the City’s Multi-Cultural Advisory Committee which invites all faiths to join together. The celebration also highlights the diversity found in the community while fostering an understanding of different religions.
The event is scheduled for Thursday, May 7 at 7 p.m. at Coral Springs Charter School Auditorium. There is no cost to attend.
The Charter School cafeteria is located at 3205 University Drive on the southeast corner of Sample and University.
