The talented actors of Next Stop Broadway’s Teen Theatre Project are gearing up to bring the iconic 1980s romantic comedy, The Wedding Singer to life on stage.
Fans of the original Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore comedy will love this stage adaptation featuring all the iconic characters and flashy musical numbers.
Set in 1985, The Wedding Singer -The Musical Comedy transports audiences to an era of big hair, bold fashion, and unforgettable music.
The story follows Robbie Hart, New Jersey’s favorite wedding singer, and a rock star wannabe. After his fiancée leaves him at the altar, Robbie must navigate heartbreak while performing at the wedding of the girl of his dreams. Will he be able to pull off the performance of a decade or lose her forever?
“The play is a “fun nostalgic trip back to the 80s, and our talented teen performers are so excited to bring the cult-classic film to life on stage,” said Cynthia O’Brien, director.
The musical features a book by Chad Beguelin and Tim Herlihy, with music by Matthew Sklar and lyrics by Chad Beguelin. It is based on the New Line Cinema film written by Tim Herlihy.
