Pleasure Caribbean Cuisine is now open in Coral Springs, serving Haitian comfort food and Creole specialties and earning early rave reviews.
Pleasure Caribbean Cuisine recently opened its doors in Riverside Plaza, the Publix-anchored shopping center at 8242 Wiles Road, bringing a menu packed with traditional Haitian and Caribbean favorites.
Owned by Betanie Henry and chef Richemond “Ray” Belice, who are no strangers to South Florida’s culinary scene, the duo also operates Unique Park Restaurant in Pompano Beach and has spent more than 25 years working in local kitchens.
The menu highlights a wide range of items, heavy on Haitian specialties, including deep-fried pork griot, fried turkey tassot, goat stew, conch, oxtail, cow foot stew, legume, lalo, homemade piclise spicy slaw, and fritay platters filled with an assortment of fried favorites.
One standout item is the restaurant’s traditional Haitian pumpkin soup, served exclusively on Sundays. Known as Soup Joumou, the dish carries cultural significance in Haiti and is a staple at family gatherings and celebrations.
Among the restaurant’s most popular dishes so far are the Beef Oxtail Stew, the Fried Pork Griot, and the Fried Creole-Style Turkey.
Breakfast offerings include saltfish, beef liver, homemade scrambled eggs, steamed fish, bouillon, and other traditional Haitian morning favorites.
Guests can pair their meals with sides such as fried plantains, yuca, bulgur wheat, macaroni au gratin, salad, legumes, and house-made pikliz, a pickled slaw.
Early customer reviews have been overwhelmingly positive.
Bel Deyess praised the restaurant’s atmosphere and hospitality.
“Great atmosphere, clean place, great service. Staff were very friendly. Food was delicious. Lot of parking space,” Deyess wrote.
Dee Simon said the restaurant fills a need in Coral Springs.
“Absolutely wonderful experience. The food is delicious, the place looks beautiful, portions are large and very tasty,” Simon wrote. “I hope they stay in Coral Springs for a very long time as we needed Haitian cuisine like this in our town.”
