A Ramblewood Middle School parent is being recognized by the school’s PTO for donating her time and talents to help transform campus events into memorable experiences for students.
Nancy Diaz, a mother of a seventh-grade student, has spent the past year volunteering as the PTO’s Decorations Coordinator, creating elaborate displays for school events and celebrations – all at no cost to the school.
According to PTO President Rosaura Cruz, Diaz joined the board this year to give back to her daughter’s school community.
“She came on board this year because she wanted to do more for her daughter’s school,” Diaz told Coral Springs Talk, adding, “She offered her services as our decorations coordinator and has gone above and beyond for our Raider students.”
Diaz, originally from Venezuela, discovered her passion for event decorating through a love of creating joyful experiences for others. Wanting to refine her craft, she enrolled at the Decolovers Institute to study party planning and professional decoration techniques. In addition to her work with the PTO, she also owns a company named Lopdi Balloons.
“I was inspired by the ability to convey emotions and witness moments filled with happiness,” Diaz said. “I am part of the first generation of the Decolovers Institute.”
Since joining the PTO, Diaz has designed decorations for a wide range of school activities, including the Holiday Shop, book fairs, district chess tournaments, teacher and staff appreciation events, M.T.L. ceremonies, and honor society inductions.
Cruz shares that Diaz’s creativity has also transformed themed events on campus, including a recent Harry Potter–themed book fair that drew excitement from students and staff.
Looking ahead, the PTO is preparing decorations for several upcoming events, including the school’s second annual Raider Fair on April 16, which is open to families and prospective students in the community. They will also decorate for Teacher Appreciation Week and the school’s eighth-grade graduation ceremony and dance.
Cruz said Diaz’s work has made a noticeable impact on campus.
“As president, my goal was to keep the fun going,” Cruz said. “Why does it have to change for middle school? It shouldn’t. Nancy brings that touch that we were missing.”

Cruz added that Diaz’s dedication has extended beyond normal volunteer hours, sometimes working on projects over the weekend, even when the school is closed.
“The students are shocked with every creation she does,” Cruz said. “They love her, and the teachers and staff appreciate her so much. I’m truly grateful for her generosity. She has been an inspiration to our PTO board.”
