The Broward County School Board approved the 2025/26 school calendar for Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) during its meeting on December 17.
According to a release from BCPS, the newly approved calendar features several key highlights, including a week-long Thanksgiving break, two weeks for winter break, and a week for spring break.
Key Dates for the 2025/26 School Year:
- First Day of School: Monday, August 11, 2025
- Thanksgiving Break: Monday, November 24 – Friday, November 28, 2025
- Winter Break: Monday, December 22, 2025 – Friday, January 2, 2026
- Spring Break: Monday, March 16 – Friday, March 20, 2026
- Last Day of School: Wednesday, June 3, 2026
The calendar also includes teacher planning days, early release dates, holidays, and days designated for report cards. Additionally, provisions for up to five severe weather makeup days have been incorporated.
“We are excited to share the 2025/26 school calendar with our families and community,” said BCPS Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn. “We appreciated the valuable feedback from our educators, families, students, and community for creating a schedule that supports optimal learning and well-being. Our goal is to provide a high-quality education in a supportive and inclusive environment, and this calendar will help us achieve that goal.”
