The Marcus family celebrated Christmas early by participating in the Second Annual Shadow Wood Christmas Golf Cart and Bicycle Parade on December 17.
Out of 12 entries, their cart was awarded first place for being the best dressed in the parade.
“We are so excited about winning first place. We worked for three days straight to prepare our golf cart and a trailer behind it. Our theme was the Grinch that Stole Christmas,” said Melanie Marcus.
The Marcus family, Melanie, Tim, and children Madi, 8, and Merrick, 5, and Melanie’s mother, Karen Manson, participated. Tim wore a Grinch mask.
“We all worked hard. The kids worked hard to decorate the golf cart,” said Tim.
Madi said, “We made sure all the presents on the cart were wrapped and that it looked nice.”
The carts and some bicyclists traveled through most of the Shadow Wood neighborhood. The participants waved at people watching from their yards. One of the carts had Santa Claus on board. At the end of the parade, the participants enjoyed a potluck dinner together.
