Coral Springs’s own Giuliana “Gigi” Kostick is officially committed to playing college soccer at West Georgia.
Kostick says it felt amazing and was something she had worked hard for many years.
“It’s a huge weight off of your shoulders because the Division 1 recruitment process is super competitive and really stressful, ‘Kostick said. “I’ve got a lot of hard work ahead to keep my offer and build my game to be competitive at the next level.”
Kostick began playing soccer with the Coral Springs Youth Soccer Program when she was five. Six years later, she transitioned to club ball and has played with ENCL. She is currently competing for a club team in Georgia.
In high school, Kostick, who still has one year left before graduating, has played three years on the varsity soccer team. Her team has won 46 games during her tenure and made the state championship game this past season, shining as the sixth-ranked team in the county.
Kosrick felt West Georgia was the right fit for her in college. Not only does the school have her major, but it competes in a strong Atlantic Sun Division.
“The athletic facilities were great, and the coaching staff made me feel like this was home,” Kostick added. “The school isn’t too far from where I live, and my family can come to watch me play my games.”
Still, with time before college, Kotick knows she must stay competitive by building her physical strength and working on technical abilities.
“I’ve got a lot of work left to do to prepare myself for the speed and toughness of Division 1 play, Kostick said. It’s a big challenge, and I’m ready for it.”
