Coral Springs residents now have access to a groundbreaking new treatment for severe depression.
Neuro Wellness Centers of America – a clinic that has been serving the mental health needs of the community since 2018- has introduced SAINT TMS therapy by Magnus Medical, an innovative approach that many feel is revolutionizing treatment-resistant depression.
According to Matthew Lahn, co-founder of Neuro Wellness Centers of America, SAINT (Stanford Accelerated Intelligent Neuromodulation Therapy) represents the next frontier in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. Unlike traditional treatments that require six to nine weeks of therapy, SAINT condenses the process into just five days. Patients undergo ten ten-minute treatments daily, with 50 sessions completed weekly.
A new treatment method, SAINT therapy, uses advanced functional MRI imaging and a proprietary algorithm to pinpoint the optimal anatomical target for precise, personalized neurostimulation.
While SAINT has previously been available primarily in research and inpatient settings, its introduction at Neuro Wellness Centers of America marks a significant step toward making the treatment more accessible. The Coral Springs clinic is the first location on the East Coast to offer SAINT commercially, with only three other outpatient facilities currently operating in California.
“The SAINT protocol was FDA-cleared in 2022 and is designed for individuals with the most severe cases of medication-resistant depression,” Lahn recently told Coral Springs Talk, adding that the treatment is ideal for those who have been through unique traumatic experiences as well as those who have treated such patients.
“Many of these patients have active suicidal ideation and have failed multiple antidepressant treatments. The accelerated timeline makes it especially beneficial for first responders and international patients who may not have the luxury of undergoing traditional TMS therapy.”
For individuals struggling with major depressive disorder, finding an effective treatment can be difficult, time-consuming, and an additional drag on one’s mental health in itself. Lahn tells Coral Springs Talk that SAINT is an ideal alternative option with that in mind.
“SAINT is far more effective than traditional antidepressants, and it works for patients who have had multiple treatment failures,” Lahn said. “The biggest advantage is how quickly it provides relief—most patients experience remission from depression by day five.”
Lahn says he and his wife, Shelly, also his business partner, have been active Coral Springs and Parkland community members since 2016. Passionate about helping others, the pair are often involved in numerous local organizations committed to improving mental health care access in the community.
For Coral Springs residents who have struggled with depression and found little success with conventional treatments, Neuro Wellness Centers of America offers multiple options- both SAINT and some more traditional.
“In addition to SAINT, Neurowellness Centers of America has many advanced treatment options,” Lahn said.
“While no one treatment is 100 percent successful for everyone, it’s likely that one of our treatment options or a combination of treatments will very likely prove to be successful in alleviating their depression.
