A Coral Springs teen was named a finalist for a prestigious leadership award from a global Jewish youth organization.
Hannah Berg, 17, was selected as one of three finalists for the CTeen Choice Leader of the Year award in the female category. The finalists, chosen from hundreds of teen leaders worldwide, were announced Sunday at the CTeen International Summit in New York City.
Hannah, a 12th grader at Coral Glades High School, was among thousands of teens from across the U.S. who gathered at the teen summit and flooded Times Square in a massive show of Jewish pride. CTeen is the largest Jewish teen network in the world and aims to cultivate young leaders.
Among other accomplishments, Hannah is a leader and dedicated events coordinator for CTeen Coral Springs. The group is part of the Chabad Teen Network, encompassing over 730 chapters in 58 countries.
Hannah also founded a Jewish club at her high school, actively leads Hebrew school programs at Chabad, and helps manage the CTeen food distribution initiative. She is a chef, archery camp counselor, and Girl Scout troop meetings and events coordinator.
“This recognition is incredibly meaningful to me. It’s a celebration not just of my efforts but of the collective spirit and support of my family, friends, mentors, and community,” Hannah said at the summit. “To my parents, who always encouraged me, my brother, a source of constant support and humor, and to my CTeen friends and leaders – your belief in me has shaped my path.”
Aliya Martin of Charlotte, North Carolina, was named the female winner of the leadership award.
