Did you get the latest scoop? The Magic Cow offers 60 creamy flavors, cakes, smoothies, and ice cream pizzas.
Located at 10274 W Sample Road, the menu includes the most common flavors and not-so-common flavors such as parma violet ice cream or Scottish Flavor, red velvet, cheesecake, key lime, Nutella, and lactose-free options.
An ice cream cone with one topping starts at $4.49, a sundae is $5.99, and an ice cream cake is $27.95.
Customers value and appreciate The Magic Cow because of their attention to their dietary needs, whether vegan, lactose, or gluten intolerant.
“I’m lactose intolerant, and it’s the only ice cream parlor I’ve visited like this, ” said Rachel, a Coral Springs resident.
Allured by the sunshine and year-round warm weather, owners Andy and Alison Mcknight moved to Florida 16 years ago from Kilmarnock, Scotland, where Andy’s dream of owning his own business began at his first job at an ice cream factory.
His ambitions went far above being an employee, leading him to create 30 flavors. He then went on to own three ice cream trucks and a grocery store.
“I love it,” said Andy. “I don’t feel it’s hard work. It’s enjoyable.”
After dedicating 24 years to the ice cream industry, Andy’s plans changed after a one-month-long family vacation to Florida in 1996. They were captivated by the tropical winter weather and decided it was time to move to the U.S. permanently.
After making the big move in 2006, they opened their first ice cream parlor named Maggie Moos in Davie six months later.
Rebranded in 2015 as The Magic Cow, its name was inspired by the word Magic, which describes something delicious in Scotland. The parlor’s inclusion of the word cow is to honor the animal that has given humans so much, said Andy.
However, the real magicians are the customers, said Andy. “We make it, and you guys make it disappear.”
After the success of the Davie location, they opened in Coral Springs two months before the pandemic started. According to Andy, they chose the city because it had a higher income population, more families, and good schools.”
