Twenty-four local high school seniors have been awarded the Coral Springs Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) Scholarship for the 2025–2026 academic year, recognizing their financial need and commitment to the principles upheld by Dr. King—social justice, community service, unity, and positive change.
This year, the MLK Committee awarded $40,000 in scholarships, supported by the contributions of city staff, committee members, and community partners, including Fiserv and Baptist Health.
The scholarship recipients were honored during the Coral Springs City Commission meeting on Wednesday.
Commissioner Joshua Simmons, who serves as the City Commission’s liaison to the MLK Committee, commended the students for their dedication to making a difference.
“This new generation gives me hope,” said Simmons. “They’re not just dreaming about a better world—they’re actively working to create it. That’s the kind of legacy Dr. King stood for, and I’m proud to see it continue through our local students.”

Scholarship funds are applied directly to the educational institutions students will attend during the upcoming academic year.
