Authorities believe a Coral Springs bank was robbed on Thursday by a man known as the “filter bandit” because he typically wears a dust filter mask obscured by a black hoodie.
The FBI is releasing photographs from the robbery that took place approximately 9:10 a.m. on Thursday morning at the Suntrust Bank branch at 1890 North University Drive.
According to the FBI, the robber entered the bank, displayed a weapon and demanded money from a bank employee. There were no shots fired and no injuries. There were customers in the bank at the time of the robbery. Money was taken, but the amount will not be released at this time.
Not only does he typically wear a dust filter mask, he wears dark-colored pants and a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt. He is also responsible for several other bank robberies in Coral Springs, Davie, Plantation and Tamarac and should be considered armed and dangerous.
