The former Greenmarket is now under new management and has a new name. Now called the Coral Springs Farmer’s Market, it’s being headed up by the person who formerly ran the Parkland Market who’s committed to making this one a success by bringing in higher quality vendors.
Seastar Event Corporation owned by Colleen Sullivan, won the bid to be the new management company wants residents to know that this won’t be the same market as last year.
“I have about 15-20 vendors committed so far, and most recently the largest produce vendor at the City of Parkland Market has decided to leave and join me in Coral Springs,” said Sullivan.
She stresses that this will be a totally new market under new management and will be food-based. Gone will be the makeup companies, garage sale-type items, and other non-food related businesses. Sullivan will be filling the market with high quality companies like she brought into the Parkland market when she managed it from 2006 – 2012.
“Anyone that wants the gourmet based olive oil, fresh mozzarella, pastries, or even french bread can come here.”

The City of Coral Springs is helping rebrand the event by changing the logo and moving it to the new ArtWalk. Also, there will be new dates. Starting this November through May, it will be open every other week. The market will no longer be open on Saturdays either, giving Orthodox Jews a chance to shop on the Sunday dates. This will also work well for parking, since the bank has given the market permission to use their parking lot that day.
Sullivan has been an event planner for over ten years working with government and non-profit events. She says she started her company after having a child and discovering she wanted to go back into business for herself. She lives in Sunrise along with her husband Kevin who is a Fire Captain and Lead Instructor for EMS at Coral Springs Fire Department.
Sullivan says her biggest priority is making the farmer’s market successful in Coral Springs first before contracting with other cities.
“My only focus right now will be Coral Springs before I go into another city. I want to make sure that the city and the residents are happy.”

What a shame – Sunday mornings don’t work for me. I will travel to a different city for Saturday markets.
I’m looking forward to the new and improved farmer’s market. Hopefully there will be some good variety and reasonable prices.. I remember the last time I visited one, they were trying to sell one dragonfruit for $10!!
