Heading into the 2021 season, Coral Springs High School football is now on their third coach in three seasons.
After former NFL Pro-Bowler Leonard Weaver left, Coach Ian Headley takes over a team that went 3-3 in 2020, including their 7-6 win over Charles W. Flanagan High School in the postseason. They also had victories over J.P. Taravella 19-13 and Northeast High School 53-0 but fell in their preseason game on Friday.
Coach Headley thought his team didn’t give the effort they needed to win and hoped to change heading into Week 1.
“We got a lot of talent and playmakers, but we just need to make sure we are giving it 100 percent all the time,” Coach Headley said.
The Colts hope to make a run for a District Championship and begin the season with their first challenge: taking on Coral Glades on Thursday, August 26 at 7 p.m.
The following week they come home and face Coconut Creek High School.
The Colts will play three of their next five games at home with Deerfield Beach High School highlighting a list of talented schools CSHS will play before they finish the season with matchups with Marjory Stoneman Douglas and J.P. Taravella.
