Coral Springs Native Ryan Scanlon Honored on Senior Night for North Broward

It was a fantastic last game of the regular season for both Coral Springs Charter and North Broward Preparatory School Thursday night, with the Eagles picking up the win.

It was also senior night for North Broward, with 13 players honored, including Coral Springs resident Ryan Scanlon.

Scanlon has played on the varsity team for four seasons and made his first career start after recording his first tackle on October 29 against La Salle High School.

"My experience at North Broward has not only made me a better person but a better player," Scanlon said. "It's always been Academics first and then athletics, but this school is just amazing. We walk from freshman year to senior night in a flash."

This was the eighth head-to-head meeting between the two schools after North Broward picked up their fifth win all-time against the Panthers.

Despite giving up 21 points, NBP had two interceptions returned for touchdowns. Deandre Desinor scored his first of three scores in the game with a 90-yard pick-six. Aaro Tuovinenn recorded the other from 64 yards.

Quarterback Joesph Griseta ran for three touchdowns, including a 75-yard score, and throwing for two on receptions from Michael McGrath and Desinor.

For the Panthers, Ryan O'Keefe connected with Trevor Catronio for a 42-yard touchdown pass on the opening drive and finished the game with three scores. Roman Reid and Colin Teschky each recorded touchdowns in the loss.

CSC finished the regular season at 5-5 during Head Coach Chris Haire's first season. Now they wait and see if they will make the playoffs.
