In the final home competition of the season, the Coral Springs Charter girls basketball team won their third straight game after defeating Pine Crest School.
In their 60-46 win, the Panthers scored only five points in the first quarter and 19 by halftime but outscored Pine Crest 26-10 in the third in route to the team’s ninth win of the season.
This was also the final home game for seniors Katerina Martinez and Davina Irizarry.
With their victory, CSC is guaranteed to finish over .500 during the regular season. They will look to win their tenth game for the second time in three years when they face Coconut Creek High School.
Tip-off is set for Monday, January 24 at 6 p.m. The Cougars come into the game with only two wins in 16 games as this will be only the second meeting between these schools since 2006.
Coconut Creek won the two previous games by at least 20 points.
