The J.P. Taravella boys soccer team will have a new coach this season after the introduction of Sergio Mosquera, who previously coached at Weston FC and PSG Academy.
Prior to that, he played Semi-Pro for Schulz Academy and in Austria for 5K. He takes over for Terrance McCorvey.
Mosquera attended FIU and received his bachelor’s in sports and fitness studies. Along with working as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist, he is the current technical director at Shulz Academy.
The Trojans are set to start their season this week with tryouts. After going 7-11-3 last season, JPT returns many of its seniors.
They Nov. 8 at Pembroke Pines Charter. The Trojans also have games scheduled for Piper, Pompano Beach, Coral Springs Charter, Fort Lauderdale, Blanche Ely, Stranahan, and Deerfield Beach High School.
