Members of the Rotary Club of Coral Springs are hoping to expand their group and work with some of the non-profits in Coconut Creek.
Club president Jean Regalado said his goal is to follow the Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce’s path and create the Rotary Club of Coral Springs Coconut Creek.
“We want to partner with non-profit organizations in Coconut Creek and build relationships there,” said Regalado.
The Rotary Club of Coral Springs has developed relationships with SOS Children’s Villages and Food for the Poor, both located in Coconut Creek. Regalado and Sal Golfo, a member, have met with city leaders to discuss their goals.
In January, the club hopes to hold a CPR training session at SOS, as it did at Veterans Hall in Coral Springs. “We want to help people in the community, and our CPR training was successful. Our goal is service above self,” said Golfo.
The Rotary Club of Coral Springs usually meets every Thursday at 6 p.m. at Pizza Time. Next Thursday, on October 30, it will meet at Tap 42 Craft Kitchen and Bar, 311 North University Drive, Coral Springs, at 6 p.m. for a social event.
