Coral Springs Launches ‘Rumor Has It’ Webpage to Address Misinformation, Increase Transparency
February 11, 2026 • By Sharon Aron Baron
Rumors can spread fast, but now Coral Springs wants residents to get the facts just as quickly with a new city webpage dedicated to setting the record straight.
Titled “Rumor Has It,” the website is designed to provide residents with timely facts and official clarifications on topics circulating in the community.
“By addressing issues directly, the city aims to reduce confusion, prevent the spread of false information, and strengthen trust through open, proactive communication,” City Manager Catherine Givens said in a statement.
The initiative was driven by the City Commission and reflects Coral Springs’ ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability, the city said in a press release. With information spreading quickly online, sometimes inaccurately, the new platform aims to provide residents with a reliable source to verify what they hear or read.
In addition to viewing topics already addressed by the city, residents can submit rumors or questions for clarification. Submissions can be made directly through the webpage, enabling city staff to respond to community concerns.
Residents can access the page and submit questions by visiting CoralSprings.gov/rumors.
