Two Broward County residents — from Coral Springs and Parkland — are among four people facing charges in connection with a fatal drug poisoning in Miami, in a case investigators say led to a rare capital murder charge.
According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the arrests stem from a months-long investigation into the death of 21-year-old Jenniha Le of Lawrenceville, Georgia, who died on June 23, 2023, after ingesting fentanyl in Miami-Dade County.
Authorities said the case was investigated by FDLE’s South Florida State Assistance for Fentanyl Eradication (S.A.F.E.) Task Force, working alongside the Miami Police Department and the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office.
On March 13, 2026, agents arrested four suspects identified as Charlene Forti, 27, of Coral Springs; An Tan Ly, 26, of Parkland; Carmen Lo, 25, of Atlanta; and Hannah Le-Nguyen, 25, of Lawrenceville.
Investigators said the group is accused of supplying the fentanyl that led to Le’s death. As a result, all four suspects are charged with capital murder in connection with the fatal overdose.
“Securing a capital murder charge in a drug-related death case is not easy, but the task force agents’ unrelenting investigative capabilities ensured that these four suspects are held accountable for bringing illegal drugs into our communities,” said FDLE Special Agent in Charge John Vecchio.
Authorities said the arrests were carried out across multiple jurisdictions, reflecting what officials described as a broader effort to dismantle fentanyl distribution networks operating across state lines.
Officials have not released additional details about how the suspects allegedly distributed the drugs or the circumstances leading up to Le’s death.
