The Coral Springs High School Air Force JROTC has achieved some success during recent competitions.
The Colts were one of the few Air Force programs to compete at the Boyd Anderson High School Annual Drill Competition in early March. They earned third place in the female armed exhibition platoon, third place in the female exhibition dual armed, fourth place in the male exhibition unarmed squad, and fourth place in the female exhibition armed squad.
“We did very well in competition against a large number of teams,” said Senior Master Sergeant William Ethridge. He is the senior aerospace science instructor at Coral Springs High.
In November, the Colts earned first place in a drone competition at Pine Collegiate Academy. “We have five cadets participating, and we have won first place in every drone competition in the last three years,” said Ethridge.
Next for the Colts is a wellness competition at Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando on April 11. The cadets will compete in the tug-of-war, obstacle course, and a one-mile run.
