A Tamarac man is facing a felony charge after investigators say he stole more than $10,000 while working as a bank teller in Coral Springs.
According to a Coral Springs Police Department report, Lincoln Garfield Lettman, 33, was arrested on February 24 and charged with grand theft stemming from an investigation into his alleged thefts that occurred at Fifth Third Bank, located at 2525 North University Drive, between December 2025 and January 2026.
The affidavit details multiple incidents captured on surveillance footage. On January 9, detectives say Lettman processed a transaction totaling $55,898 but counted $56,898 in cash. Investigators allege he separated an extra $1,000 and failed to return it to the customer or include it in the deposit.
On January 20, surveillance reportedly showed Lettman removing a stack of bills believed to total $265 from a teller drawer and concealing it before entering the vault room. The following day, detectives allege he told a customer that their transaction was short to recover the previously stolen amount.
On January 26, investigators say Lettman removed two cash straps totaling $9,350 from his teller drawer, placed them in his pants pocket, then balanced the drawer without reporting any shortages.
When confronted by investigators, Lettman allegedly confessed to taking cash from customer deposits on at least four occasions. He reportedly told detectives he had been out of work prior to his employment at the bank and was struggling financially.
Fifth Third Bank provided internal investigative reports, victim statements, and surveillance footage to law enforcement, according to investigators.
Lettman was later booked into the Broward County Main Jail. The investigation continues to determine the full extent of his theft.
