Biff and Doc {Broward County Animal Care}
Biff and Doc, two resilient six-year-old pups with hearts full of love, are this week’s featured Pets of the Week from Broward County Animal Care.
These best friends were discovered tied up and abandoned behind a local church. Doc, a 55-pound American Staffordshire mix, was visibly struggling, suffering from an upper respiratory infection and a painful limp. But he wasn’t alone. His devoted companion Biff, a 50-pound Pointer mix, never left his side.
Animal Care officials responded quickly, scanning the dogs for microchips and bringing them to the shelter for care. In a surprising twist, Doc’s chip led back to an owner — the same individual who had reported the dogs abandoned. Struggling with homelessness and unable to find space for the pair at overcrowded shelters, the owner made the heartbreaking choice to leave them in hopes that someone else could offer them the care they deserved.
Now, with Doc on the mend and Biff as bright and energetic as ever, both dogs are eager to find loving families. Biff is sharp and knows basic commands like sit, lie down, and paw. Doc is still recovering and regaining strength and will need some extra TLC, especially for his joints.
The ideal scenario? A home that could take them both, keeping their bond intact. But they can be adopted separately if needed. Either way, these sweet, affectionate dogs are ready to give their whole hearts to new companions.
Biff and Doc are neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and have had their adoption fees waived. They’re available for adoption at Broward County Animal Care, located at 2400 SW 42nd Street in Fort Lauderdale.
