March is here, and Broward County has all the options you need for a relaxing and fun spring break. Whether you are hitting the high seas, flying the friendly skies, or enjoying the perfect weather in South Florida, many great events will be taking place this month for residents and visitors. Check out Visit Lauderdale for all the great events!
Broward County’s Annual Water Matters Day is Saturday, March 14, at Tree Tops Park in Davie. This free community event is a great opportunity for all ages to learn about the role water plays in our daily lives. Many of our local Broward Schools, municipalities, and nonprofit organizations participate in making this event exceptional. The event will have over 50 educational exhibits, children’s activities, and a tree giveaway among many displays. In addition, the NatureScape Emerald Awards will be presented, recognizing exemplary NatureScape landscaping practices. A big thank you and best of luck to all District 3 applicants!
Parkland Day is Saturday, March 7! I hope you will join us for the parade and events at Pine Trails Park. The first celebration occurred back in 1967 and has grown over the years. It will have plenty of fun for the whole family with great local food options and live music. Looking forward to a great event!
March is Women’s History Month, and Broward County Libraries host many events throughout the month to educate and celebrate. Events include “Broward Women Pioneers”, discussions on national heroines such as Harriet Tubman, and programs for teenage girls about leadership and goal setting, among many other topics. These great discussions are open to our entire community, and I encourage you to attend.
Finally, Tuesday, March 17, is Saint Patrick’s Day! Celebrations will take place throughout the County, including the annual Saint Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival in Fort Lauderdale on March 13-14. Make sure to wear your green and remember not to drink and drive.
