A leading provider of prenatal, neonatal, and pediatric services has partnered with Broward Health Coral Springs to provide highly specialized, around-the-clock care for laboring patients and obstetrical emergencies.
The partnership with OB Hospitalists of Florida, which is part of Sunrise-based Pediatrix Medical Group, an affiliate of Mednax, Inc., enhances maternity care available to pregnant women by providing 24/7 availability of obstetricians in the event of an emergency delivery or immediate patient evaluation is required.
“Establishing a structured OBGYN hospitalist program is integral to our hospital’s quality initiatives,” said Jared Smith, Broward Health Coral Springs CEO. “We are confident that Pediatrix OBGYN hospitalists will work with our community obstetricians and patients to enhance our patient outcomes and improve the overall quality of care for our community.”
Pediatrix provides obstetrical hospitalist services for more than 20 hospitals nationwide and is a leader in developing processes and protocols that improve patient care coordination in labor and delivery. OB Hospitalists of Florida will collaborate with Broward Health to implement clinical pathways that will further enhance the quality and safety of the hospital’s labor and delivery services.
The program will also further foster communication and coordination between Broward Health physicians and departments to ensure seamless patient care.
“Pediatrix is excited to join forces and partner with Broward Health Coral Springs for OBGYN hospitalist care,” said Jill Hechtman, M.D., OBGYN and medical director for OB Hospitalists of Florida. “Both teams have a long history of promoting quality care for women and children. This new partnership shares a mission focused on advancing a safe clinical environment that provides evidence-based care in a team format to support mothers and other women’s health needs in our community.”
Broward Health Coral Springs recently renovated its Women’s Center, adding private suites and spa-like amenities. The new space has more than 112,000 square feet, primarily dedicated to new moms and babies. The hospital also provides advanced care through its surgical institute, the Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital, and a specialized Emergency Department for children.
Pediatrix also provides neonatology, newborn hearing screening, and pediatric intensive care services at Broward Health, offering a complete continuum of care for mothers, babies, and children in the Coral Springs community.
