Sawgrass Nature Center {City of Coral Springs}
Children in Coral Springs and surrounding areas can look forward to an adventurous and educational summer as the Sawgrass Nature Center & Wildlife Hospital brings back its popular Camp WILD program starting June 9, 2025.
Geared toward children ages 6 to 12, Camp WILD offers a hands-on, outdoor learning experience that allows campers to explore Florida’s ecosystems while learning about native wildlife. Each camp day runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is packed with interactive activities such as bug-hunting, wildlife-themed lessons, arts and crafts, and fun educational projects—all aimed at fostering a deeper appreciation for nature and conservation.
A highlight of the camp is the opportunity for children to meet a wide variety of wildlife up close. Throughout the summer, campers may encounter snakes, alligators, owls, lizards, turtles, opossums, ferrets, terrapins, raccoons, and hawks.
Each week of Camp WILD features a unique theme to keep programming fresh and exciting:
- Week One (June 9–13): What’s In My Backyard?
- Week Two (June 16–20): Wetland Exploration
- Week Three (June 23–27): Tiny Earth: The World of Bugs
- Week Four (June 30–July 3): Out Of This World! (No camp on July 4)
- Week Five (July 7–11): Under The Sea
- Week Six (July 14–18): All About Reptiles
- Week Seven (July 21–25): The Art Of Nature
- Week Eight (July 28–August 1): Furry Friends
- Week Nine (August 4–8): Project: Save the Earth!
Last year’s program included exciting activities like wetland explorations, fishing trips, fossil hunting, and bird feeder crafting. Organizers promise even more adventures this year, with new experiences designed to engage curious minds and inspire environmental stewardship.
Camp WILD 2025 is expected to fill quickly. Families interested in registering can complete the Summer Camp WILD Registration Form or contact the Sawgrass Nature Center & Wildlife Hospital by email at education@sawgrassnaturecenter.org or by phone at 954-752-9453.
