The Coral Glades girls lacrosse team is only in year number two. While they are still hoping for their first win, they had a special afternoon on Tuesday as they honored their two seniors in goaltender Jasmine Poutre and defenseman Shelia Jara.
Head Coach Ashley Speerin says she’s loved the work these two put in as leaders on the team.
“They are both captains, and being such a young program, they bring that motivation to our team that keeps the rest of the girls wanting to come back for more each day,” Speerin said.
Last season, Coral Glades played only seven times before having their season cut short due to COVID-19. They are two games into this year and have shown progress in both matchups.
They will look for their first win in their next game on Tuesday, March 2, at home when they take on Fort Lauderdale High School. Following that, they will have games against Cooper City, Coral Springs High School, South Plantation, Cypress Bay, J.P Taravella, and Cooper City.
