Divided School Board Approves Contentious Rezoning Plan: 351 Coral Springs Freshmen Shifted to Coral Glades High School

Incoming students at Coral Glades High School will have the opportunity to get a head start on the new school year during the school’s annual Jaguar Expedition orientation on Thursday, July 30.

Hosted by the Coral Glades High School Student Government Association, the event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is designed to help new students transition into high school by introducing them to campus life, academics and extracurricular activities.

Check-in begins at 8:15 a.m., and students must arrive by 8:40 a.m. Organizers said entry will not be permitted after 9:20 a.m.

During the orientation, students will participate in interactive workshops, tour the campus and meet representatives from a variety of clubs and student organizations. Attendees will also receive their class schedules, textbooks, student IDs, a Jaguar Spirit Shirt and lunch.

Registration costs $25 during the online pre-sale, available through July 24. Beginning the week of July 27, registration increases to $30 online and will remain $30 for day-of payments.

Same-day, in-person registration will be available from 8 to 8:30 a.m. on the day of the event. However, organizers said students who register during the final week or on the day of the event are not guaranteed to receive a spirit shirt or class schedule.

Parents are also invited to attend an optional orientation session at 9 a.m. in the school library. The presentation will provide information about school programs, resources and ways families can support their students during the transition to high school.

Organizers encourage Coral Springs families to register early to secure the discounted rate and help ensure a successful start to the school year.
