This week, Coral Springs Charter’s baseball team picked up their first two wins.
These were also the first wins for Head Coach Max Boling after CSC started the season in the BCAA Tier 1 Tournament and went 0-3. However, but got revenge on Cardinal Gibbons High School with a 9-7 win on Thursday.
The Panthers fell behind 2-0 but scored six runs in the third inning. The game was tied heading into the fifth, and the Panthers added two more behind a pair of RBIs from Jeovanni Hernandez, Anthony Ruacci, and Mason Alexander.
Killian O’Neill, Jack Grasso, and Ethan Wells also plated runs, while Chase Wildroudt won after coming in after Aiden Tarshis made the start. Raucci also tossed a scoreless inning and then got the win on Friday on a walk-off hit from Yaddison Karbalaieashar to score Wells against St. John Paul II Academy.
Raucci also did it with the bat, knocking in three, while O’Neill, Wells, and Grasso all had RBIs. Dylan Applebaum also pitched well in relief, allowing no earned runs in 3.1 innings and striking out six.
CSC is now 2-3 this year and is set to play Monarch High School on Monday, March 6, at 6:30 p.m.The Knights are 1-3 this year, with their lone win coming against Everglades High School in their opening game.
