Week one of the High School football season is officially in the books, with one high school in Coral Springs recording a win.
Coral Springs Charter football hosted Pine Crest School in their first regular-season game of the year and recorded a 20-13 win in overtime.
The Coral Springs Charter Panthers went 4-6 a season ago, beating Pompano Beach, Northeast, J.P. Taravella, and Marjory Stoneman Douglas. They are now set to play at Pembroke Pines Charter on Friday, August 29, at 6 p.m.
The Coral Glades Jaguars played Northeast High School in their first game, winning 51-0, and went 6-4 last season, including a 34-33 win over the Panthers in their lone matchup.
The Jaguars began the season with a 10-7 loss against Cooper City High School on Friday night. They previously beat Pompano Beach High School 52-0 in the kickoff Classic and were 3-7 a season ago, beating Marjory Stoneman Douglas, J.P. Taravella, and Coral Springs High School.
Coral Glades will play South Plantation High School in their next game on Friday, August 29, at 7 p.m. This will be the Paladins’ first game of the year after going 4-6 last season.
Coming off an impressive win in the kickoff classic, the Coral Springs High School football team fell to Westminster Christian High School 34-6 in their first regular-season game.
The Colts had their lone win last season against J.P. Taravella and will play Nova High School in their next game on Thursday, August 22, at 7 p.m. The Titans lost to Central High School in their first game of the season, following a 7-3 record the previous year and a 33-7 victory over the Colts.
The J.P. Taravella football team dropped its opening game of the season to Hollywood Hills High School, 14-3, on Friday night. The Trojans have gone winless the last two years and will face Northeast High School in their next game on Thursday, August 28, at 6:30 p.m. The Hurricanes went 2-8 last season, with one of their two wins coming against the Trojans. They also beat Pompano Beach High School, but dropped their first game of the 2025 season against Pembroke Pines Chatter.
