The arrival of summer also signals the start of hurricane season. Now is the time for residents to review their Hurricane Preparedness Plans. Florida residents can take advantage of a “disaster preparedness” sales tax holiday through Friday, June 14, to purchase supplies like flashlights, batteries, and generators. Residents are encouraged to sign up for emergency alerts from the city, including severe weather advisories, by texting the keyword AlertCS to 888-777. For more information, visit CoralSprings.gov/Hurricane.
