It was a successful day for the varsity bowling teams in Coral Springs, with one school and one individual bowler heading to States.
J.P. Taravella
The J.P. Taravella boys team is heading to States after finishing second, only behind Archbishop McCarthy High School. Their top score came from Cesar Medina. He heads to States with Zachary Kimbrell. Jeremy Smith, Bryce Collins, Anthony Mountcastle, Giovanni Pianelli, Rey Maharaj, and Evan Kallen.
Coral Springs Charter
After the girls won the Broward County Athletic Association Championship on Oct. 20, the Coral Springs Charter played well again in Districts. Alexis Diaz, the lone senior on the girls’ team qualified for States. Faith Tucker, Audrey Gold, Jazz Chung, Mia Rodriguez, Gianna Candio, Danielle Lucas, Giovanna Gurgel, and Sofia Diaz contributed and are likely to return next season.
While the boys did not advance, they still had a terrific season. They honored their seniors: Tyler Harris, Derrick Lai, Demario Laroda, Jaeden Gasper, Rashad Bhaiji, and Aahil Valliani. At the same time, Mateo Guzman and Hayden Scott will likely return next season.
Coral Glades
Coral Glades finished the season strong and recognized their seniors Sydney Littman, Hailey Stein, Blake Sands, and Angelina Rizzuto. They bowled this year with Kaiden Littman, Raquel Christie, Casie Kazanjian, and Auri Harding. At the same time, the boys’ team consists of Tanner Fey, Ethan Schwartz, Lane Brainard, Anthony Catalano, William Laster, Jared Dubrow, and Sal Campo.
Coral Springs High School
Coral Springs High School’s bowling season ended after a valiant effort in Districts. The Colts team consists of Liana Guillen, Kiara Hampton, Alexandra Mendoza, Jason Kimbal, Marcus Mills, Gavin Kaplan, and Kaitlynn Cooper.
Next, J.P. Taravella boys team and Alexis from CSC will head to Orlando for States starting Tuesday, Nov. 1.
